Andreu Galero, a young math whiz representing SM City Santa Mesa and Iyah Navarro, a pretty little princess from SM City Lipa were recently crowned as SM Little Stars 2012 during the Grand Finals held at the SM Mall of Asia Center Stage.
 
Andreu and Iyah stood out from the 21 finalists in this annual nationwide search for cute, adorable, and talented kids. The judges including Viva Communications, Inc. Executive Vice President Vincent Del Rosario, director Louie Ignacio and acoustic artist Princess Velasco gave them high marks in the contest criteria: 45 percent for star quality, 25 percent for personality, 30 percent for talent and 10 percent for popularity votes.

Chrisdane Andreu Galero, seven, who represents SM City Santa Mesa showed his musical talent by playing the keyboard during the talent competition. A born performer, he also loves dancing and performs monologue pieces in school activities. Andreu also shines in his academics; he topped all his classes from Nursery to Grade 1 and excelled in a Math Quiz Bee.
 
Aliah Franzin Navarro, six, wowed the crowd with her “Telephone” song and dance number during the talent portion. It’s not surprising as she admires Sarah Geronimo. The lovely representative from SM City Lipa whose favorites include Mathematics and biking, also hopes to become a pediatrician in the future.
 
First runner-up was SM City Iloilo’s beautiful Kailey Rose Kemp, while SM City Rosales’ little president Julian Philip Gonzales and kiddie artist Sebastian Nicholas Ballesteros were second runner-up and third-runner up respectively.
 
Over 2.5 million worth of prizes were given away during the competition.  Grand winners Andreu and Iyah brought home P150,000 worth of cash and shopping money, a four-year college scholarship grant from National University and a Viva Artist Management Contract. Like the other top winners, they also received trips for two to Xiamen, China, gift certificates from John Robert Powers, scholarship grants from Center for Pop Music, SM Bowling and SM Ice Skating, and gift certificates from Toy Kingdom and SM Storyland.
 
The event also brought them together with the SM Little Stars winners from China. Hu Xinruiand Yuan Xi from SM Xiamen, Yuan Niman and Gong Lei from SM Jinjiang, Liu Siqi andYang Chenglin from SM Chengdu, and Fan Ziyu and Jin Gaojie from SM Suzhou showcased their talents during the grand gala.
 
The program hosted by Luis Manzano also featured singing champion and up and coming pop artist Anja Aguilar. SM Little Stars 2011 grand prize winners Steven Ocampo andRowena Ann Gardo also graced the event to share their fun experiences and learnings during their reign.
 
SM Little Stars Year 6 is co-presented by Viva Events, Studio 23, National University, Cebu Pacific Air, John Robert Powers, Center for Pop Music Philippines, SM Department Store, SM Kids Fashion, Toy Kingdom, SM Storyland, SM Bowling and SM Ice Skating Rink.
