VALENZUELA City’s premiere mall, SM Supercenter was awarded as one of the top taxpayers for 2011 during the city’s 14th charter day anniversary celebration held at the Museo Valenzuela.

Of the 11,277 registered businesses establishments, SM was among the 20 firms that the city government honored for paying their taxes diligently.

Aside from SM, this year’s top tax payers include the Manila Electric Company, Maynilad Water Services Inc., Filipino Metals Corp. and Splash Corp.  

SM Prime Holdings Inc. bagged the taxpayer award under medium enterprise and was named the 1st top job provider. It also led the list of top taxpayers for 2011 having paid P10M in income taxes.   

“We are delighted to be recognized as a top economic contributor in Valenzuela City. It is inspiring to know that we were able to significantly contribute to the city’s progress as an employer and a taxpayer,” mall manager Hazel Reyes said. 

For the past five years, SM Supercenter has created business opportunities and countless jobs in the city.

The award was handed down by Mayor Sherwin T. Gachalian, Labor and Employment Secretary Rosalinda Dimapilis-Baldos and Rep. Rex Gatchalian. Troy Gallardo
