SM founder and chair Henry Sy Sr. recently received the Ramon V. Del Rosario Award for Nation Building in a program held at Tower Club, Makati City. A partnership between JCI Manila and Asian Institute of Management’s RVR Center for Corporate Social Responsibility, the award was inspired by the late ambassador who was also JCI Manila’s founding president and acknowledged father of modern Philippine industry. 
 
Sy was recognized for perpetuating Del Rosario’s legacy, his entrepreneurial spirit, good corporate citizenship and passion for nation building.
