SM Investments Corporation co-sponsored the Gawad Kalinga Global Expo held on October 6-8 at the SM Business Park, in a lot beside the SM Mall of Asia. The event was a huge success attended by about 100,000 Gawad Kalinga members, volunteers and supporters.
The highlight of the GK Global Expo was the “Parade of Heroes where various organizations, schools and universities, local government units, civic organizations, the police force and various corporations came together in a show of unity and solidarity for the country.
Entertainment was provided by the country’s top concert performers and bands through the concert entitled, “GK1MB.
The Expo also showcased a series of workshops and forums all geared towards nation-building.
As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility, SM has been a valuable partner of Gawad Kalinga. Through SM Foundation, Inc., SM has helped build 87 housing units in SM Gawad Kalinga Villages in Mandaluyong City.
With the theme, “Bawat Pilipino Bayani! the colorful parade proved to be one of the largest gatherings of heroes in Philippine history.
