CITY OF SAN FERNANDO—The 43 SM Supermalls in the country simultaneously held their Christmas launch on Saturday, unveiling different themes and designs to provide the Yuletide spirit this early.
Jauncho Sibal, SM assistant vice president for operations in North Luzon, said the Sy-owned malls launched their Christmas showcases for the growing number of their customers all over the country.
“We want everyone to enjoy Christmas at SM not just to shop and dine but to be with their families,” said Sibal, who graced both the launching at SM Pampanga here and SM City Clark in Angeles City.
“We want families to truly enjoy, especially the kids. SM is for them. We welcome everyone at SM,” he added.
Ana Datu, SM Clark’s assistant mall manager, said their Giant Toyland is “a theme for the eyes, heart and soul.”
“We have submitted our own design and theme and each mall cannot duplicate one another’s décor,” she added.
In SM Pampanga, Assistant Mall Manager Lana Erroba and Mexico Mayor Teddy Tumang led the launch of the “Christmas Around the World” showcase more than an hour before the event at SM Clark.
Sibal also announced that SM Olongapo City in Zambales will open before the year ends.
He added that the opening of the SM San Fernando mall, which is about four kilometers away from SM Pampanga, will be moved to a later date. It was supposedly scheduled to open on Nov. 25.
In the same events, fireworks displays were held shortly after the Christmas launches.
