CLARK FREE PORT-Smart Communications Inc. (SCI) is revitalizing its more than 90 offices in the country, opening its newly improved
branch at the SM City Clark here last week.
Napoleon Nazareno, president and CEO of SCI and Philippine Long Distance Telephone (PLDT) Co.,led the blessing of their branch in one
of the tops malls in Pampanga.
In his speech, Nazareno said they had revitalized their offices to cope with the fast-changing times and needs of consumers, providing better wireless and Internet services. He said their ‘revitalized’ service started with Smart’s Netphone, the world’s first operator-managed smartphone with a wholesale application community.
Launched on Sept. 10, the Netphone immediately gained huge market sales worldwide, getting 40 percent of total global sales, according to the SCI.
Orlando Vea, chief wireless adviser of the SCI, said their office at SM Clark is the first branch to be re-opened in Central Luzon after being repaired. He added that ‘this was the 11th among their offices improved.’ He and Nazareno recently re-opened their branch in Iloilo City.
The SCI,the Philippines leading wireless services provider with 44.1 million subscribers, disclosed that ‘Angeles City and Pampanga residents
are mostly Smart subscribers.’ He ‘added that I know it will stay this way.’
Nazareno welcomed their special guest, Herminia Pamintuan, wife of Angeles City Mayor Edgardo Pamintuan.
In her speech, Pamintuan said ‘the city and Smart have always been partners,’ especially in the annual street musical and dance festival dubbed ‘Tigtigan, Terakan KengDalan’ held on the last Friday and Saturday of October.
