SM Prime Holdings Inc. on Friday broke ground on P3.2-billion office building called ThreeE-com Center, its fourth office tower to rise at the 67-hectare Mall of Asia complex in Pasay City.
SM Prime commercial properties group senior vice president David Rafael said in an interview following the groundbreaking ceremony ThreeE-com Center would have a gross floor area of 111,727 square meters and primarily cater to the business process outsourcing providers as well as shipping and logistics companies.
Rafael said SM Prime was accelerating the development of BPO buildings within the MOA complex because of the strong demand for office space.
“The BPO sector has been one of our major economic growth drivers. It has not exhibited signs of slowing down. This gives us the confidence and motivation to continue pursuing projects like this,” Rafael said.
ThreeE-com Center is expected to be completed by 2017.
Rafael said the company was applying for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design or LEED certification for ThreeEcomCenter building.
LEED is a set of rating systems for the design, construction, operation, and maintenance of green buildings, homes and neighborhoods developed by the US Green Building Council.
LEED is intended to help building owners and operators become environmentally responsible and use resources efficiently.
Once certified, this would be the first LEED office building of the SM Prime group.
ThreeE-com Center is also expected to generate P1 billion in annual revenues for the company.
