Michael Martinez recently signed a contract with the SM Group that gives monetary support for his goal of making it to the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea.

Martinez, who made a name for himself earlier this year in the Sochi Winter Olympics, inked on the dotted line in time for his upcoming training in the United States to prepare for the Hilton Honors Skate America in Chicago this October.

The 17-year-old Martinez was invited by the organizing committee to compete in the prestigious event. Only the world’s top ranked skaters are requested to attend the competition.

SM Prime Holdings, SM Lifestyle Entertainment, Inc. and the SM Foundation have teamed up to provide the financial needs of Martinez.
