CONRAD MANILA, the first Conrad hotel to open in the Philippines, announced the appointment of Taryn de Belen as the director of Business Development.

Ms. de Belen brings with her over 15 years of experience in hotel sales, events and business development, with extensive exposure in some of the top luxury hotels in the Philippines. In her new role as director of Business Development, Ms. de Belen is tasked to oversee all sales and marketing initiatives for Conrad Manila, developing and implementing commercial strategies and execute processes to drive business growth to the hotel.

Ms. de Belen shared her insights on the new Conrad hotel’s competitive advantage to dominate lifestyle tourists and the meetings, incentives, conferences, and events (MICE) market. “International hospitality experts agree that in our world of countless choices, hotels are making more strategic e¬fforts to make themselves stand out.

Disruption has a¬ effected meetings and conventions, and we see logistics turning more automated for the convenience and efficiency of international and local organizers and attendees,” she said. “As a LEED-certified hotel, Conrad Manila is also well-positioned to address the increasing public awareness on eco-friendly and sustainable practices.”

Being at the center of Mall of Asia’s shopping mecca, sports and events arena, and connected to the SMX Convention Center, Ms. de Belen believes that Conrad Manila is the destination of choice.

Already, Ms. de Belen has developed strong commercial strategies and processes that are meant to drive business growth to the hotel where she oversees sales, revenue, event management, and marketing.

Leading the team with Ms. de Belen in the overall business development strategy is Conrad Manila’s General Manager Harald Feurstein.
