The opening of the SMX Convention Center gathered together an extraordinary mix of government officials, corporate bigwigs, members of the diplomatic corps, and artists and art lovers, recently.
Vice President Noli de Castro was the guest of honor during the event, which was highlighted by the unveiling of the mural by world-renowned artist Juvenal Sanso.
SM founder and chairman, Henry Sy, Sr., the artist Juvenal Sanso, and SM Prime Holdings president joined him.
The mural, dubbed ‘Tides of Fortune,’ is significant not only because of its size, but also because it is a testimony to the long friendship with SM Group founder and chairman Henry Sy, Sr.
An 86¼ x 251½ inch acrylic on canvas mural, it is Sanso’s largest work, and is showcased at the SMX concierge.
DTI secretary Peter Favila and PAGCOR pres. Efraim Genuino were among the government officials who attended the event, while Federation of Filipino Chinese Chamber of Industries Francis Chua and Sammie Lim represented business groups.
