SM Foundation in cooperation with SM Cares distributed books to elementary and high schools in mall activities coinciding with National Children’s Book Day-National Story Telling. The distribution held in all SM Supermalls nationwide benefited 280 public elementary and high schools. There were simultaneous mall-wide storytelling by celebrities Ms. Lynn Ching of GMA-7 and international artist Lance Raymundo to 150 children from Mandaluyong, DSWD’s Nayon ng Kabataan Center and Parañaque, Taguig and Manila.

Present during the activities were SM Foundation executive director Ms. Debbie P. Sy; SM Foundation executive director for Health and Medical Services Ms. Connie Angeles; SM Cares chairman on Children and Youth Welfare Committee Mr. Royston Cabuñag; SCMC Regional manager Ms. Liza Silerio; DepEd undersecretary Vilma Labrador, National Book Development Board executive director Andrea Pasion-Flores, Pfizer executive Mr. Chito Maniago and representatives from Vibal Publishing.
