CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — SM City Pampanga will once again join the annual observance of Earth Hour on March 28 at 8 p.m. at Parking A2.

The ceremonial switching off of lights (simultaneously with other SM malls in the country) will happen at 8:30 pm for 60+ minutes. Lights inside the mall area of SM Pampanga will be on 50 percent operation.

SM City Pampanga Public Relations Manager Rain Cervantes said that they are also encouraging tenants to have their stalls’ lights on 50 percent operation. She added that the mall will go 100 percent off on its SM logos, billboards and pavilion.

Mall executives are also expected to spearhead the ceremony led by Regional Operations Manager Junias Eusebio and Assistant Mall Manager MJ Arevalo.

Performers from It’s Showtime, LPP Tron will liven up the event with a synchronized choreography in black lights and LED lights costume. The stage will be decorated with LED lighted water bonsai.

Earth Hour started in 2007 in Sydney, Australia when 2.2 million individuals and more than 2,000 business establishments turned their lights off for one hour to take a stand against climate change. Only a year later and Earth Hour had become a global sustainability movement with more than 50 million people across 35 countries participating.
