CAUAYAN CITY, Isabela, March 24 (PIA) – – In line with the celebration of Fire Prevention Month, SM City Cauayan led the annual fire and earthquake drill in coordination with the Bureau of Fire Protection here and the city’s Resccue 922 on March 12, 2015.

The fire and earthquake drill is one of the company’s effort to assure the readiness and preparedness of its shoppers, tenants and employees to respond to fire and earthquake incidences.

This simulation is conducted in partnership with BFP-Cauayan City, City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office/Rescue 922 and the Philippine National Police in support to its campaign on fire prevention awareness.

Around 300 mall employees, mall tenants, security guards and agency personnel participated in the drill.

Simulated situations were also prepared to practice the disaster response skills of the mall’s Emergency Response Team.

The Fire and Earthquake preparedness and evacuation drill is one of the annual activities conducted by the mall to freshen-up the responsibilities of each member of the Emergency Response Group and to equip the mall employees with skills that they can use during fire and earthquake incidences.

It also aims to evaluate the preparedness, logistics and capability of the mall in handling disaster situations. (Krystal Gayle Agbulig, SM Cauayan/ALM/MGE/PIA-2/Isabela)
