AMAZING Twins, Meteor Garden, Jewel in the Palace, Coffee Prince, It Started With a Kiss, Winter Sonata, Boys over Flower. These are but a few of the tagalized Asianovelas that captured the heart of Filipinos over the years.
And with the continuing popularity and growing fanbase of films, telenovelas and even stars from Japan, South Korea, China and Taiwan, among others, SM Lifestyle Entertainment, Inc. and Viva International Pictures joined forces to bring the tagalized Asianovela experience to a much bigger scale.
Launching on March is the country’s first ever SineAsia Theater- a moviehouse dedicated to the viewing and premiere of commercial Asian films that are dubbed in Filipino.
SM Lifesyle Entertainment President Edgar Tejerero and Viva Entertainment Inc., founder Vic Del Rosario formally signed the contract for the creation of the SineAsia.
Gangnam Blues, which featured Filipino icon Freddie Aguilar’s hit song “Anak” and topbilled by Lee Min Ho of the Boys Over Flowers series, will kick off the commercial opening of SineAsia on March 4.
SineAsia, which features two-week runs for Asian films at the regular movie rates, will be available in eight SM Cinema branches namely: SM Megamall, SM Sta. Mesa, SM Manila, SM North EDSA, SM Fairview, SM Bacoor, SM Cebu and SM Iloilo.
Tejerero said, depending on the public’s response to the featured films, SM Lifestyle Entertainment is prepared the theaters to all SM branches nationwide.
