SM Supermalls is inviting overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and their families to visit the third and fourth Global Pinoy Centers (GPC) at SM City Clark and SM City Marilao and avail themselves of a Global Pinoy Card.

Notable OFWs like Apl De Ap (Black Eyed Peas vocalist) and Prudencio Garcia Jr. (former OFW and owner of Mekeni Food Products) were honored at SM City Clark on Feb.4 during the simultaneous opening of the GPC in the two malls.

Lydia de Vega-Mercado, a two-time Olympian, Asia’s medalist and ‘Asia’s Fastest Woman’ during the ’80s, and Mayor Orencio Gabriel (known as the Pinoy ‘Tortilla King’ in the US and incumbent mayor of Obando) graced the stage at SM City Clark.

Any OFW who visits SM’s GPCs can get their own personalized Global Pinoy Card which entitles them to exclusive rewards and privileges. The card allows OFWs exclusive entry to SM GPCs where they can do transactions at the BDO remittance counter and the department store’s foreign-exchange or the business counter.

OFWs could also use the GPC’s Internet facilities for free and avail themselves of free voice or video calls through the Abot Tanaw Program. This card also enables them to enjoy P80,000 worth of discounts and perks.

OFWs can get their Global Pinoy Cards at: the newly opened GPCs located at the SM Mall of Asia and SM City Fairview.

SM conceived of the Global Pinoy Program to applaud the sacrifices and dedication of OFWs to their families. SM also targets to open 10 new GPCs in 10 new locations nationwide this year. Other SM malls that will open a GPC this year are SM City North Edsa and SM Megamall (Feb. 10), SM Bacoor and SM Rosario (Feb. 11) and SM Cebu, SM Iloilo and SM Davao (Feb. 18).
