
ARISE Private Sector Alliance for Disaster Resilient Societies Philippine network marked the International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction 2025 at SM Mall of Asia with the theme “Fund Resilience, Not Disasters.” The event featured exhibit booths, a Youth Resilience Relay, and a T-Bandage Designing Competition, highlighting strategic investments in disaster preparedness.
UN Resident Coordinator in the Philippines Arnaud Peral and Office of Civil Defense Assistant Secretary Cesar Idio together with ARISE Global Board Member VADM Alexander Pama, AFP (Ret.) and ARISE Philippines Co-Chair Engr. Liza Silerio were present for the ceremonial dropping of coins.
The celebration underscored the importance of risk-informed funding and multi-sector collaboration to reduce disaster impacts and build safer communities.
