The group 2NE1, known as the badass queens of KPop, is coming to the Philippines again as part of its AON: All or Nothing 2014 World Tour and also to celebrate its fifth anniversary with fans in the country. Aside from the fact that Dara (also known to Filipino fans as Sandara Park) spent almost half of her life in the country, 2NE1 also considers the Philippines its second home. Here are some little fun facts about the group that will help you know the girls better.

1. The band consists of CL (leader), Dara, Bom and Minzy. They formally debuted in March 6, 2009 with the debut single “Fire.”
2. Collectively, 2NE1 fans are called Blackjacks. In the Philippines, the 2NE1 official fanclub name is 2NE1PH founded in March 27, 2009 by Daichelle Duba and Marigil Maniego.
3. CL became a trainee of YG, she handed her demo personally to the YG Entertainment chief executive. Bom was rejected by YG many times but she kept on coming back to audition until they finally accepted her after three years. YG discovered Dara after someone saw the KBS Documentary My Name Is Sandara Park. The company offered her a workshop in 2005 which she accepted, putting her career in the Philippines on hold. Though she went back after six months, Dara and her family moved to Korea in 2007 so she could be a full-time trainee. Minzy, the youngest in the group, became a YG trainee when she was in 6th grade after the company saw her dance videos which she had uploaded online
4. 2NE1 TV is seasonal reality show of the group. The show, which showcases their daily lives, already had three seasons.
5. Like CL, Bom can also speak English, Japanese and Korean since she spent lived in the United States for three years as an exchange student.
6. 2NE1 means “twenty first century” and “new evolution” combined.
7. CL released her first solo single “The Baddest Female” in 2013.
8. Minzy has a Gundam Collection and despite being the youngest in the group, she is a better cook compared to the older members.
9. Dara’s younger brother, Park Sang Hyun or more popularly known as “Thunder,” is a member of the group MBLAQ.
10. In 2009, their rookie year, the group bagged the Song of the Year award in MNet Asian Music Awards (MAMA) for their single “I Don’t Care”. Similarly, in the following year, they won Artist of the Year, Album of the Year, and Best Female Group making them the only artist to win three grand awards in MAMA history.
11. Bom can play the flute, piano, and cello.
12. Dara popularized the palm tree hairstyle during the Fire era. She was also the one who propagated tenggu hair, apple hairstyle, byeomeorie and other bold and wild dos that are part of Kpop history.
13. CL is in charge of organizing and cleaning the group’s dormitory as she is a cleanliness freak.

14. G-Dragon, leader of 2NE1s labelmate Bigbang, said Minzy is his favorite junior. In fact, he said she likes her more than his own group’s youngest member, Seungri.
15. The group had collaborated with Black Eyed Peas members will.i.am and apl.de.ap for the song “Getting Dumb” which was one of the tracks of will.i.am’s second album #willpower.
16. Out of all the members, Bom has the most number of fans in her fancafe in Korea.
17. CL gave Dara a doll named Tam-Tam which she made herself.
18. Summer of 2012, the ladies promoted their own line of Adidas together with Jeremy Scott and alongside Nicki Minaj, Big Sean and Derrick Rose, commemorating their entry into American pop culture.
19. Even though Dara has plenty of male idol admirers who openly said they like her such as 2PM’s Wooyoung, 2AM’s Seulong, FT Island’s Minhwan, MBLAQ’s Lee Joon, U-KISS’ Kevin, and EXO-K’s Chanyeol, she only has eyes for actor Won Bin.
20. Minzy is close to other artists from other entertainment agencies like IU, Goo Hara of Kara, Siwon of Super Junior, Amber, Sulli and Luna from f(x), and Yoona, Tiffany, Hyoyeon and Sooyoung of Girls Generation
21. Before every performance, the group shouts “Nolja!” which means “Let’s play!”
AON: All or Nothing 2014 World Tour in the Philippines is slated on May 17, 8 pm at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City. Expect CL, Dara, Bom, and Minzy to perform their biggest hits including their latest single “Come Back Home” from their latest album “Crush.”
Coming with them as special guests is fellow YG artist Winner. The tour, which kicked off in Seoul, had already thrilled audiences in Shanghai, Beijing and Taiwan. After the Philippines, 2NE1 will take the show to Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore and Japan.
