MANILA – SM Prime Holdings said Wednesday it would open this week its 63rd mall, SM Cherry Antipolo, strengthening its presence in the capital’s eastern suburbs.

The mall, opening on Friday, will be the third Cherry outlet to open since SM acquired the grocery pioneer in 2015, the company owned by the country’s richest man, Henry Sy, told the stock exchange.

The three-level SM Cherry Antipolo has a gross floor area of 27,000 square meters and will house SM Supermarket, Ace Hardware, Watsons, and BDO Unibank branches, according to the disclosure.

SM also operates SM City Masinag, SM City Taytay and SM Center Angono in the eastern portion of Metro Manila.

This year, the company has so far opened SM CDO Downtown Premier in Cagayan de Oro, S Maison at the Conrad Hotel in Manila. It will open SM City Puerto Princesa later in the year.

SM Prime Holdings shares were unchanged at P33.70 on Wednesday.
