The festival-on-the-rise expects 45,000 fans at the SM MOA Grounds
Carat Philippines will be holding the third Fusion: The Philippine Music Festival this Friday at the SM Mall Of Asia Concert Grounds. Much like the previous incarnations, the aim of Fusion 2017: Play As One is to promote Filipino music and once again features a diverse line-up across many genres from masa pop to indie rock.

According to Carat, Fusion 2017 “looks to transform the nation’s positive visions of a better country into reality with this year’s theme – Forward – forward to a better future, united in songs and spirit.” 45,000 attendees are expected on the one night-only festival to “play as one.”
Keeping this in mind, collaborations between up-and-comers and artists can be expected, as well as performances from some of the country’s biggest stars including Popstar Royalty Sarah Geronimo, Bamboo, Pop Rock Superstar Yeng Constanino, love team JaDine aka James Reid and Nadine Lustre, indie bands Ransom Collective and Miles Experience, jukebox heroes Aegis, pop-rock bands Gracenote, 6CycleMind, and Callalily, and Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez-Alcasid, to name a modest few.

Last year’s Fusion Music Festival drew huge responses from young music fans. In addition to acts that have entered public consciousness, Fusion 2017 will also feature the top participants from Alab: The Independent Musician Rising Awards. Student organisations were also tapped for the Fusion Forward movementGoing beyond support, different student organizations chose to be at the forefront of the Fusion Forward movement including the Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants – NCR, UP Communication Research Society, and Junior Financial Executives of Polytechnic University of the Philippines. The University of the Philippines, De La Salle University, and the Polytechnic University of the Philippines were part of the 25 Fusion Campus Tours.
Fusion 2017: Play As One is co-presented by the Tourism Promotions Board, 7-Eleven, Max’s Restaurant, Lamoiyan, and Tanduay. Ticket prices are 2,000PHP for VIP, 1,000PHP for Gold and 300PHP for Silver and can be purchased online at SM Tickets and TicketNet.
