MALL operator SM Prime Holdings Inc. is set to open its 58th mall in Trece Martires, Cavite, the company’s second for the year.
The mall, scheduled to open this year, is already the company’s fifth in Cavite, following its community malls in Bacoor, Dasmariñas, Rosario and Molino.
The Trece Martires mall adds 84,000 square meters in gross floor area for the company, bringing SM Prime’s total retail space to almost 7.5 million sq m, the largest footprint in the country.
“The success of our first four malls in Cavite encouraged us to expand the malling lifestyle in the province. SM City Trece Martires will be a great addition in the development of Cavite, as we remain committed to expand toward the provincial areas,” SM Prime President Hans Sy said.
The new mall, situated on the corner of two main thoroughfares of Governor’s Drive and Capitol Road, opens new doors to Trece Martires, which has more than 100,000 residents, the company said.
Opening with almost 80 of space lease awarded, SM City Trece Martires is furnished with retail stores, dining outlets, recreation and entertainment facilities, and guest-focused service centers.
Joining the opening of SM City Trece Martires are some of the retail stores, food outlets and anchor tenants, like the department store, supermarket, hardware, Watsons, Banco de Oro, appliance and cinema. The new mall will house four state-of-the-art cinemas for a total of 237 cinema seats. A 737-slot parking space is also provided.
SM Prime recently opened SM City San Jose del Monte in Bulacan on April 29, with 101,000 sq m in gross floor area.
SM Prime has 49 malls in Luzon, 20 of which are in Metro Manila, five in the Visayas and four in Mindanao.
The company aims to open five new malls this year, reaching a total of 61 malls in the Philippines and six in China, with an estimated combined gross floor area of 8.6 million sq m by the end of the year.
