SM PRIME Holdings, Inc. is opening its 58th mall in the country on Friday, keeping the Henry Sy-led property giant on track to open five new malls this year.
 
In a statement, SM Prime said SM City Trece Martires is also its fifth mall in the province of Cavite, after malls in Bacoor, Dasmariñas, Rosario and Molino.
 
“The success of our first four malls in Cavite encouraged us to expand the malling lifestyle in the province. SM City Trece Martires will be a great addition in the development of Cavite as we remain committed to expand towards the provincial areas,” SM Prime President Hans T. Sy was quoted in the statement as saying. 
 
SM City Trece Martires, located at the corner of Governor’s Drive and Capito Road, will cater to the more than 100,000 residents in the area.
 
Last April 29, SM Prime opened SM City San Jose Del Monte in Bulacan. SM Prime is planning to open five new malls this year to reach a total of 61 malls in the country and six in China. — T.M.B.Umali
