CAPAMPANGANS again gave SM a warm welcome, as crowds packed SM City San Fernando when it opened its doors to the public on July 20. Not even the overcast skies and rainy weather could stop shoppers from quickly filling up the mall as soon as SM Prime Holdings President Hans T. Sy in the SM tradition-opened the doors to welcome the first wave of customers.

SM City San Fernando is SM Prime’s 44th mall and the third in Pampanga after the phenomenal opening of SM City Pampanga in 2000, and SM City Clark in 2006.

The new mall is a testament to SM’s close ties to the Capampangans as well as its confidence in San Fernando’s booming economy. Known as the Christmas Capital of the Philippines, San Fernando’s strategic location within the Manila-Clark-Subiceconomic triangle makes it a growing agro-industrial-commercial metropolis. It is also the regional center of Central Luzon, and home to regional offices of government line agencies.

No less than Pampanga Gov. Lilia Pineda and San Fernando Mayor Oscar Rodriguez were the guests of honor during the blessing the day before together with Archibishop Paciano Aniceto and Board Members Trina Dizon, Ric Yabut, Monina

Laus, Fritzie Dizon and Raul Macalino. SM officials led by Mrs. Felicidad T. Sy, SM Prime Holdings President Hans T. Sy, and SM Supermarket President Herbert T. Sy welcomed them.

Located on a 7,835-squaremeter site in V. Tomico Street in Barangay Santo Rosario, the seven-story 42,625-square-meter mall will bring SM’s shopping, leisure and entertainment excitement closer to San Fernando’s Heritage District.

The Heritage District’s rich tradition was taken in consideration in SM City San Fernando’s design. The mall’s facade was designed to blend with the district’s historic buildings, while creating a lively shopping center that reflects SM’s ground breaking approach to retail. It also highlights SM’s commitment to the environment by using sustainable materials.

The main mall entrance leads to a variety of shops, with color and a sculpted ceiling creating an alluring experience. The mall’s main retail anchors, the SM Department Store and SM Supermarket, are strategically located on the ground floor for easy access. SM mainstays like the SM Appliance Center, ACE Hardware and Watsons; as well as fashion boutiques,

an IT Zone, beauty and wellness shops, and service outlets will enhance the shopping experience. Mallgoers can enjoy

eating out options from major national and international chains; while three state-of the-art cinemas will serve as the focal point of the indoor entertainment area.

A three-level parking garage located above the four-story shopping center provides generous parking.

For customer convenience, the parking structure is integrated into the overall design with a service and dock area located

along Consunji Street.
