Deutsche Bank, through the Deutsche Bank Asia Foundation, is partnering with SM Prime Holdings Inc. (SMPHI), Philippines largest mall operator to fun the construction of a two-storey building at Llano Elementary School in Caloocan, a city north of Manila and the country’s third most populous city.

The new school building will see four classrooms added to a school which has grown beyond its current infrastructure. At present 2,200 children most of whom are from low-income househo9lds- are educated in 16 classrooms, which has an average 138 students per classroom. The new building will ease space concerns and design to facilitate better learning environment.

This Llano project is part of the donors’ participation in the Department of Education’s Adopt-A-School Program. Deutsche has signed an agreement with SMPHI, appointing SM Foundation, a non profit organization, to administer the funding and manage the school construction before eventually handing over the project to the Department of Education and the school beneficiary.
