September 2, 2012 — After inaugurating its new consular office at a major mall in Metro Manila last Friday, the Department of Foreign Affairs is opening another one in Davao City on Monday.
The DFA said its Mindanao office and its Regional Consular Office in Davao City (RCO Davao) have moved to its new location on the third floor of SM Davao.
“The facility’s soft opening will be on September 3, while full operations will begin on September 10,” the DFA said in a news release on Sunday.
Once the new office is fully operational, it can accommodate 300 walk-in passport applicants daily, the DFA said.
It added that the new office will initially accept passport applications only but will soon add document authentication services.
The Davao office will be open from Monday to Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. for both processing and releasing of passports. On Sundays, it is open 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for passport releasing.
RCO Davao will have Flora Belinda Bacosa as its officer-in-charge. Those with questions about the new office can call (082) 285-4885 or (082) 285-5190.
DFA Secretary Albert del Rosario said the opening will be another milestone in the DFA’s efforts to provide accessible and convenient services to the public.
On August 31, the DFA inaugurated its National Capital Region (NCR) East Satellite Office at SM Megamall in Mandaluyong City. — BM, GMA News
