The Exploreums at the SM Mall of Asia and SM Lanang Premier — projects of the SM Lifestyle Entertainment, Inc. (SMLEI) — are currently in their soft opening.
The eight main galleries of the Exploreum cover a wide range of topics related to life on earth and the fundamental nature of the cosmos.
“The Natural World” exhibit gives the guest an in-depth view on flora and fauna, carnivorous plants, the world’s smallest animal, and how insects communicate with each other.
“The Human Adventure” will help guests understand the human brain and the different organs that make up the body.
“Zoom” explores how humankind has flown, soared, chugged, and sped throughout the years.
“Connect” investigates all the ways we express ourselves — from written to spoken, symbolic to electronic, gestural to text.
“Cyberville” is a one-of-a-kind hands-on gallery that features robots, solar powered devices, local inventions.
The “Space Camp” explores meteorites, black holes, cosmic rays, and more.
“The Living Earth” exhibit peels back time like layers of the earth’s core.
Also the largest planetarium in the Philippines, The SM Exploratorium is a 360-degree full dome theater that will feature digital graphics and videos.
Aside from the eight main exhibits, there is the Discovery Room where youngsters can experiment with the different properties of matter and how machines work; and the Science Park, a learn-through-play space where guests can sort through shapes, slides, sounds, and colors.
“Exploreum is a total immersion experience that will stimulate curiosity and inspire science learning in everyone by creating fun and memorable experiences because we value science as an indispensable tool for understanding our world and enriching people’s lives,” said Nicole Deato, Assistant Vice President for Education and Leisure Center of SMLEI.
