CITY OF SANFERNANDO-Employees of SM Supermalls in Pampanga volunteered to share their blessings to physically challenged children and those nearly abandoned by their families shortly before New Year’s Day.
The SM workers decided to act on their own to share some measure of happiness and care to 29 special children with different special needs, 12 of whom are stay-ins at the Holy Trinity Special Education Foundation Inc. (HTSEFI) in Manibaug, Porac, Pampanga. HTSEFI is an institution run by two Dominican nuns who tend physically challenged children and those given up by their families.
The workers of SM Supermalls in North Luzon – SM City Pampanga, SM City Clark, SM City San Fernando Downtown and SM Savemore Apalit – were led by public relations chiefs Scarlet Pagdangapan (San Fernando Downtown), Rain Cervantes (Pampanga) and Venus Manalang (Clark).
‘Some SM workers volunteered to share their blessings with the children in this season of giving. It felt very good,’ they said. At least 29 employees who were not on duty Dee. 29 delivered on behalf of the other SM workers the used clothes, toys, goodies and cash to the institution.
‘This is a very simple way of giving huge smiles to these kids who are mostly with special needs and attention. In this activity, employees of SM Supermalls intended to enliven the lives of the children by sharing the blessings they receive all year round. The spirit of giving came through the ‘KriSMiles’ project for these children,’ they said.
For his part, Vice Mayor Porac Dexter David and his sister, Pampanga Board Member Fritzie David-Dizon, expressed gratitude to the SM workers.
