SPORTS and entertainment merge in the newly opened SM Bowling Center at the Mall of Asia. Suddenly, it’s not just about aiming for that perfect game, but also about hanging out with family and friends for great food and great billiards.
Designed by Australian based Architect’s EAT, it redefines mainstream bowling, elevating it to a whole new level of dynamic entertainment. It is a place for the serious enthusiast and for a casual bowling session with one’s barkada, officemates and family members.
Apart from having 32 bowling lanes with state-of-the-art plasma monitors supported with the best Italian-manufactured scoring system in the country, the new SM Bowling Center is also a great place for billiards, karaoke, and lie sports viewing.
You can also enjoy a fusion of culinary delights and drinks in the sports bar operated by the popular Aruba Bar and Restaurant. Colors, lights, and graphics interplay for a whole new bowling experience. The ceilings of the new bowling center for example, are painted red panels forming an overall sculptural wave. These represent the sound and motion waves produced by the music, the people, and the balls.
The wave theme is also evident in the undulated ceilings of the bowling lanes, which create a giant wave flowing toward the large projection screens at the end of the lanes. On both entrances, circular discs representing bowling balls are suspended at varying levels to create a wave effect. They flow onto the mall’s ceiling to capture the attention of passerby.
Other exciting design elements to watch out for at the new bowling center large graphics and moving blue lights on the walls.
Ergonomical designer furniture and exuberant decor provide an array of public and private spaces for bowling and other activities. Love organic benches in the main hall are gracefully sculptured, yet oh so comfortable for bowlers. Couches on the bowling settee are provided for a lounge feel, making it possible for bowlers to relax and have snacks in between games.
You’ll definitely get bowled over at the new SM Bowling Center located at the ground floor of the Entertainment Building of the Mall of Asia. As they say, let the games begin!
