CAUAYAN CITY, Isabela, January 19 (PIA) — SM City Cauayan has delighted around 172 children of Lingap Center, Center for Women and Children, Center for the Deaf and Agta community in Ilagan City with its ‘Bears of Joy’ Program today.
Krystal Gayle Agbulig, public relations officer, said the ‘Bears of Joy’ program was launched last December 2014, where shoppers can buy a pair of bear, keeping one for them and donating the other one to a chosen charitable institution or to the less fortunate children.
She said the program was able to earn 381 pieces of bears, of which the 172 pieces were turned-over to the Lingap Center, Center for Women and Children and Center for the Deaf.
She added that an Agta Community at Cabisera 10, San Antonio, in Ilagan City also received ‘Bears of Joy’ from SM Cauayan City.
Agta chieftain Pokhang Diaz expressed his gratitude to the team of SM Cauayan City for bringing joy to all children in their community through its ‘Bears of Joy’ program.
With this program, Agbulig said that each piece of bear wishes to draw a smile on each child’s face and to make each recipient feel that SM cares for them.
“Around 209 pieces more of ‘Bears of Joy’ are set to be turned-over to street children, orphans and indigents, this city, next week,” she added. (ALM/MGE/PIA-2/Isabela)
