CAUAYAN CITY, Isabela, March 30 (PIA) – – The SM City Cauayan has switched off all its external lights Saturday in observance of Earth Hour 2015.
SM City Cauayan mall manager Ian Ezekiel M. Balao led this year’s switch-off ceremony as hundreds gathered at the mall’s parking lot.
Balao said the SM Supermalls proudly continues the tradition of joining the world’s largest environment campaign to foster awareness on the global issue of climate change.
“All 50 SM Supermalls across the nation including six branches in China, likewise turned-off their lights for Earth Hour,” Balao said.
For several years now, he said that SM Supermalls has actively heeded the call for a change of ways and internalized the ethic of sustainable business and operated diligent and dedicated environmental program focusing on efficient business and environment stewardship through energy efficiency, water conservation, solid waste management and air quality program.
“SM continues to become a catalyst for change through our resource saving measures and the strong environment programs, education, awareness and advocacy though its SM Cares,” the mall manager said.
He added that the mall’s management will continue its annual observance of Earth Hour as well as its innovations to care for Mother Earth. (ALM/MGE/PIA-2 Isabela)
