SM City North Edsa recently had the distinction of being chosen as one of Readers Digest Most Trusted Brands for 2012 for the second year in a row in ceremonies held at Resorts World Manila. SM’s first Supermall won the Gold Award in the Mall Category in the prestigious survey.
For the past 14 years, the Reader’s Digest Most Trusted Brands Survey has established its reputation as the premier consumer-based and international measure of brand preference. Reader’s Digest bestows the Gold Trusted Brand Award to companies or products selected by Asian consumers as their preferred brand in the market. There were six qualitative criteria as a basis for the award: Trustworthiness and Credibility, Quality, Value, Understanding of Customer Needs, Innovation and Social Responsibility. SM Premier Malls VP for Operations Steven Tan accepted the award from Reader’s Digest Philippines Advertising Director Maricarl Garcia. SM City North Edsa’s Regional Operations Manager Renee Bacani, Mall Manager Hershe Angeles and SM Leasing Regional Manager Winnifer Oliver were also present during the awarding the ceremony.
At 425,000 square meters, SM City North Edsa is today the largest mall in the Philippines and among the largest in the world. The mall, which opened in 1985, is SM’s first supermall, spearheading the mailing phenomenon in the Philippines. After more than 25 years, it continues to innovate and create shopping, leisure and entertainment excitement for the whole family in its various areas: The City Center where it all started; the upscale The Block, the Annex, with its Cyberzone and trendy shops and restaurants; the Interior Zone; the North Link; and of course, the spectacular Skygarden.
SM City North Edsa has also received numerous industry, marketing and corporate social responsibility awards including the prestigious International Council of Shopping Centers Gold Award (ICSC) and as dne of Reader’s Digest Most Trusted Brands for Mall Category in 2011.
