TRECE MARTIRES CITY, Cavite, July 28 (PIA) — More than 1,800 people, mostly indigent families from Bacoor and Dasmariñas City benefitted from the recent medical mission conducted by SM Foundation Inc. in cooperation with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and the municipal and city health office dubbed as “Gamot Para sa Kapwa.”

In a press statement released by SMFI, volunteer doctors performed tooth extraction, medical check-up and distributed free medicines to the patients. Aside from the medical mission, the foundation also extend financial support in the establishment of hospital activity centers, hospice units and centers for the elderly in areas SM companies are located.

Meanwhile, personnel of the provincial DSWD were thankful for the medical mission that helped indigent families avail of health services they seldom enjoy.

The SMFI has been supportive of different advocacies like education through its scholarship program and donations of school buildings; mall-based outreach program, “Donate a Book, Make a Child Happy,” “Share Your Extras,” and health oriented projects “Gamot Para sa Kapwa” and medical missions.
