SM Foundation has activated its calamity response program ‘Operation Tulong Express” with donations kiosks set up in all 33 malls nationwide.

The Foundation is enjoining mall shoppers and tenants to donate cash or relief goods like canned goods, bottled water, blankets, clothing and other basic necessities like cleaning aids that would be distributed to the victims in various areas affected by the onslaught of storm ‘Ondoy.” Now that the flood waters have receded and residents have returned to their homes, the gargantuan task of cleaning their mud-covered homes starts.

The donations in kind will be brought to SM warehouses of the malls which are currently serving as packing centers of relief goods. SM trucks and vans are used to bring the goods to distribution areas manned by SM Foundation staff and volunteers.

Meanwhile, medical missions and food distribution have been set up by SM Foundationin Marikina, Quezon City and Bulacan to aid the victims in the ravaged areas.

As early as Sunday morning, food distribution and medical missions were already undertaken in Brgy. Sto. Cristo in Quezon City and all the Concepcion Integrated School for residents of Brgy. Tumana and Barangay Nangka in Marikina.
