MARILAO, Bulacan—More than 1,600 Bulakeños benefited from the medical and dental mission opened by SM Foundation in its mall here yesterday.
Dubbed as Gamot Para sa Kapwa 2009, the mission was held at SM City Marilao’s event center.
Patients from Marilao and other neighboring towns were given free medicines, medical consultations, x-ray and electrocardiograph tests, according to Sheryl Baltazar, the mall’s information officer.
Other services offered were free eye examination from Universal Eye Shop, bone-density scan from Multicare, and prostate-cancer screening from Abbott International.
Some 100 volunteers from the provincial government of Bulacan, Marilao Health and Social Welfare offices, barangay Ibayo, LILAS Multipurpose Cooperative, Nazarenus Hospital and St. Michael Hospital in Bulacan took part in the mission and doctors from the Philippine General Hospital and Prime Health Clinic-SM Marilao rendered their medical expertise in the medical mission for free.
