SM Foundation Executive Director for Health and Medical Programs Connie Angeles receives the trophy for SM Foundation during the awarding ceremonies of the 2nd Management Association of the Philippines (MAP) CSR Leadership Challenge. The Foundation’s Health and Medical Programs garnered the Best in Health Special Award.

SM Foundation’s health and medical programs has several components among them Medical missions with its mobile clinics services, Wellness centers for Children and the Elderly, Barangay Health centers, Hospice units for the Terminally-ill, Blood bank for its employees and the Cultural Minority Wards. Through the health and medical services advocacy of SM Foundation, wards of some government hospitals are adopted and converted into Felicidad Sy Wards. These wards are renovated, repainted, refurbished and provided with medical supplies and equipment. The foundation also conducts comprehensive medical missions that benefit indigent families not only within the vicinity of SM malls but also in remote and disaster-stricken areas.

‘The MAP CSR Leadership Challenge’; according to MAP CSR Committee 2011 Chairman Junie del Mundo, ‘aims to promote CSR as important and integral part of good management practice, inspire MAP members and other-top executives to improve their practice and set the bar for the practice of CSR in the country, and recognize companies that exemplify what it means to be a true corporate citizen through their CSR programs:’ There were Special Awards on Education, Enterprise Development, Environment and Sustainable Development and Health. The Integral CSR Award is the main award.
