The Global Pinoy Center, or GPC, a one-stop shop that offers remittances services, communication facilities, shopping, skills training, investment and legal consultations for Overseas Filipino Workers and their families is now open at the Northwing Al Fresco beside Shakey’s of SM City Bacolod, a press release from the mall said.
Six Negrenses dubbed as Global Pinoys, who have made a distinct mark in their field abroad, were honored at the GPC launching.
The honorees were ballet dancer Georgette Sanchez, chef Virgelio Jun Celis Jr., fashion designer and businessman Dr. Bobi Rodero, and group vocalists Ana Katrina, Ana Kristina and Kristopherson Madrigal.
In its effort to reach out to millions of Filipino customers in the country and all over the world, SM Supermalls launched the GPC to serve the needs and champion the cause of OFWs and expatriates, as well as their dependents and beneficiaries living in the country, the press release said.
A Global Pinoy who visits any SM GPC can get his/her own personalized Global Pinoy Card, which entitles him/her to exclusive rewards and privileges.
This card also allows him/her exclusive entry to any SM Global Pinoy Center where he/she can do transactions at the BDO remittance counter, SM Department Store’s Foreign Exchange or Business Counter.
He/She can also use the center’s internet facilities, voice or video calls for free.
His/Her card will also enable him/her to enjoy P80,000 worth of discounts and privileges and other SM promos. This card is also available for the Global Pinoys families and beneficiaries, which they can use in any of our Global Pinoy Centers that will be opened across all SM Supermalls nationwide, the press release said.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony was attended by SM Supermalls vice president for Operations Glen Ang, vice president for Marketing Joaquin San Agustin, assistant vice president for Operations in the Visayas region Danny Chavez, executive assistant Moises Dela Cruz who represented Mayor Evelio Leonardia, Bacolod Rep. Anthony Golez, councilors Catalino Alisbo and Sonia Verdeflor, and SM GPC honorees, it added.*
