SM launched recently its cell-phone waste collection program, which highlighted the setting up of Nokia trash bins in all 36 SM Malls nationwide. This program is in partnership with the National Solid Waste Management Commission and Nokia.
This project is a continuation of SM Prime Holding’s earlier efforts toward green transformation. As early as 2007, it started a program to educate cell-phone users to properly dispose of electronic wastes, which are hazardous to the environment.

Garcia said, ‘Consumers usually need to see concepts such as green initiatives in action. We would like our shoppers to trust and see the value of our green initiatives so they will participate and realize how this impacts their lives.’
