April 26, 2015 – CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — What started as an experimental event to bring young music lovers together has now turned into a grand slam event as some 20,000 people flocked to this year’s Cast Away 2.0 Music Festival at SM City Pampanga’s Amphitheater.

The Saturday event had hundreds of sound trippers partying until late night to the music of Parokya Ni Edgar, Rico Blanco, Taken By Cars, Never the Strangers, Techy Romantics, Autotelic, Earthmovers, The Ransom Collective, DJ Tom Taus, and Marc Mercs.

The simple experiment to bring the best in contemporary music together started in 2014. Due to its obvious success and the unbelievable line up last year, there was a sudden demand to have another version of the event this year which SM City Pampanga organizers said would be a yearly thing as long as people would clamor for it.

SM City Public Relations Officer Rain Cervantes said the event aims to highlight the mall’s summer celebration with a perfect gathering of the best bands and performers that the young generation, and even the not-so-young, can easily identify with.

“What’s best way to beat the summer heat but in afternoon of music and youthful fun,” Cervantes said as she joined the Generation Y in a myriad of dancing and partying.
