SM Supercenter Las Pinas opened Oct. 2, giving residents in the south metro area another exciting way to shop, dine, and have fun the SM way.’
Located at a prime 28,600 sqm property in Barangay Talon in Pamplona, Las Piñas, the 34,000 sqm mall is SM’s second in that area. The first, SM Southmall, which opened in 1995, is located in the eastern section; while SM Supercenter Las Piñas will serve customers in the western section of this city. It will also serve customers in the nearby provinces of Laguna and Cavite.
Since its establishment as a fishing port and a major salt making center during the Spanish era, Las Piñas City has grown into an important residential, commercial, and industrial suburb in Metro Manila.
This rapidly urbanizing residential commercial enclave has many large industrial firms and over 250 residential subdivisions, as well as universities, hospitals, and major churches.
Las Piñas is famous for its Bamboo Organ, located inside the Saint PiñasJoseph Church of the Parish of Las Pinas. Built by Fr. Diego Cera in 1824 out of bamboo, wood, and metal, the organ is the only one of its kind in the world, and is praised for its unique, rare, and melodious sound.
Las Piñas is also known as one of the cleanest cities in Metro Manila, and is in the list of the Clean and Green Hall of Fame awarded by the Philippine government. It is also one of two local government units in the country that has been honored with the prestigious Global 500 Roll of Honor of the United Nations Environmental Programme (UNEP).
SM Supercenter Las Piñas fittingly has green inspired motifs in its design theme – dazzling geometric floor patterns, leaf motifs on curved ceiling blades, and clean and simple lines at the shop fronts. Storefronts are framed with metal channels and integrated signage zones providing a strong frame work for merchants to apply their unique identities to stand out in the crowd.
The new supercenter will have SM Hypermarket as its anchor. Drawn from a European inspired concept, SM Hypermarket is known for bringing the wet market experience to the mall with produce, seafood, meat, and poultry products brought straight from the source in its Hyper Fresh section.
The hypermarket’s Hyper Grocer, Hyper Fashion, Hyper Living, and Hyper Service sections complete the shopping experience.
It will also have SM mainstays like ACE Hardware, Watsons, shops, restaurants, and banking services through BDO.
The design team for SM Supercenter Las Piñas includes DSGN, exterior designer; EDGE Interior Design, interior designer; JRP, architect of record; DA Abcede & Associates, project manager and DDTKI, general contractor.
