Manila, Philippines – As a strong advocate for the environment, SM Supermalls makes it a point to underscore the need for people to be aware of and to participate in sustaining the environment for future generations.

One laudable project which is on its fourth year is SM Supermalls eco bag project, of which 3.2 million has been distributed since 2009.

This year, SM Supermalls invites high school and college students to join its eco bag design and to get into the mainstream of environmental preservation and sustainability.

July 13, 2012 marks the date when SM Supermalls eco bag design contest started accepting submission of entries from Metro Manila, Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao students currently enrolled for the SY 2012-2013.

Designs must be based on the four elements of nature: air, earth, fire and water. All designs should be in relevance with the theme of “Art of Sustainability.”

Entries must have the four elements of nature and must use a maximum of four colors. Entries must be uploaded to SM Cares page of www.smsupermalls.com/designyourecobag in the following format: JPEG and digital format, should not exceed two mb and size should be based on the current SM eco bag (LxWxH 19”x7.5”x16”).

Participants must fill out the online registration form with their complete details in order to join.

There will be four lucky winners to be chosen nationwide who will win P25,000 and an iPad three each. The winners’ school will get P 25,000 that will go towards the school’s environmental projects.
