CITY OF MALOLOS—SM Foundation has donated another wellness center for children.  This time, the foundation inaugurated on Friday the Felicidad Sy Wellness Center for Children located at the Pediatric Ward of Bulacan Medical Center (BMC) in this city.

The renovated pediatric department of BMC is the country’s 52nd Felicidad Sy Wellness Center, named after the wife of SM Group chairman and founder Henry Sy Sr.

The facilities are children-friendly with colorful displays, toys and learning materials to help sick children feel relaxed during their stay at the hospital.

Bulacan Gov. Jonjon Mendoza, together with BMC chairperson of pediatrics Elizabeth Mendoza and provincial health officers Protacio Bajao and Hjordis Marushka Celis, expressed their appreciation for the support provided by SM Foundation.

Bajao said the new center is a good step for the children-patients to forget their trauma and remember the fun and learning they learned from the hospital.

Former senator Juan Flavier, executive director for health and medical programs Connie Angeles, and overall executive director Debbie Sy signed the deed of donation and unveiling of the donation marker as it officially turned over the center to the hospital.

Angeles explained that the foundation not only renovated the ward, but  will also regularly maintain the wellness center.

The 52 Felicidad Sy Wellness Centers in the country include hospice units, centers for the elderly, centers for children and multipurpose health centers.
