THE Commission on Elections (Comelec) has set a special registration day for voters with disability and elderly.
In a statement, Comelec said people with disabilities and senior citizens can register on July 17 in several SM malls nationwide.
The event will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the following SM Malls: SM North EDSA (for residents of Quezon City Districts 1, 2, 4, and 6); SM City San Lazaro (for residents of Manila Districts 1, 2, 3, and 4); SM City Manila (for residents of Manila District 5); SM Center Muntinlupa (for residents of Muntinlupa); SM City Marikina (for residents of Marikina).
Special registration will also be held at SM Center Las Pinas (for residents of Las Pinas Districts 1 and 2); SM City Sucat (for residents of Paranaque Districts 1 and 2); SM Aura Premier (for residents of Taguig); SM Mall of Asia (for residents of Pasay Districts 1 and 2).
Special satellite registration activities will be set-up on the same day at other SM malls such as SM City Baguio (for residents of Baguio City); SM City Bacolod (for residents of Bacolod) and SM Cebu City (for residents of Cebu Districts 1 and 2).
The poll body said the special registration will be held in conjunction with the celebration of the 37th National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation Week.
The event is supported by the National Council on Disability Affairs (NCDA), the Asia Foundation through the Fully Abled Nation Project, SM Supermalls and SM Cares. (FP/Sunnex)>
