CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — Day 1 and 2 of Castaway 3 Music Festival at SM City Clark and SM City has brought together 55,000 music lovers and sound enthusiasts in the biggest homegrown music festival outside of Metro Manila.
It was a night to remember at SM City Clark as crowds of Generation Y trooped to the said mall for a night of party and dancing. SM City Clark public relations officer Venus Manalang said that some 20, 000 people attended the first day leg.
The event was so talked about that the #Castaway3MusicFestival went trending nationwide on Twitter over the weekend. And unlike the usual rowdy music festivals, Castaway is notable for the discipline of its organizers and even the people to attend the event.
Meanwhile SM City Pampanga attendees reached around 35, 000. People rushed to see and party with the top bands and musicians in the Philippines, including Rico Blanco, Gloc 9, Pupil, Sponge Cola, Ebe Dancel, Silent Sanctuary, and December Avenue.
The Day 3 of the event yesterday featured Noel Cabangon, Aiza Seguerra, and Johnoy Danao at SM City San Fernando Downtown.
The simple experiment to bring the best in contemporary music together started in 2014. Due to its obvious success and the unbelievable line up last year, there was a sudden demand to have another version of the event this year which SM City Pampanga organizers said would be a yearly thing as long as people would clamor for it.
SM City Public Relations Officer Rain Cervantes said the event aims to highlight the mall’s summer celebration with a perfect gathering of the best bands and performers that the young generation, and even the not-so-young, can easily identify with.
“What’s best way to beat the summer heat but in afternoon of music and youthful fun,” Cervantes said as she joined the Generation Y in a myriad of dancing and partying.
