The Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP) Ministry of Commerce Royal Thai Government, together with the Thai Trade Center and Royal Thai Embassy Manila, officially launched Thailand Week 2015 to Filipino entrepreneurs and business enthusiasts.
The exhibit which opened yesterday at Halls 1 and 2 of the SMX Convention Center will run through Sunday, March 1. It will be open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
More than 100 industry association leaders and businessmen gathered at the SMX Convention Center, Mall of Asia Complex in Pasay City at the opening day yesterday to see Thailand’s vibrant industries that include auto parts & accessories, household & kitchenware, garment, textile & fashion accessories, gems & jewelry, health & beauty, and food & beverages.
In her opening speech, Director of Thai Trade Center Manila – Ms. RachakornSaksri explained the purpose for holding the annual exhibit.
“We are strongly committed in strengthening the economic ties between Philippines and Thailand and through this event we hope to continually serve as an avenue for Thai and Filipino entrepreneurs to build lasting business partnerships.”
Also present to grace the event were Ms. SomjaiTaphaopong, Charge d’ Affaires, Ad Interim of the Royal Thai embassy, Mrs. PrapaBuranasiri, head of Innovation Promotion Division for the Department of International trade Promotion, members of the Diplomatic Corps and selected ASEAN ambassadors.
Thailand Week is expected to be a perfect venue for Thai companies to find local distributors here in the Philippines as more than 100 Thai companies showcase their unique line of products and services to over 10, 000 expected trade buyers and visitors during its four-day trade fair.
Aside from the wide range of business opportunities that can be generated from the exhibit, Thailand Week also features different Thai cultural performances, mini fashion shows and cooking demonstrations to give the public an authentic taste of Thailand’s rich culture and heritage.
