Pico Sands Hotel and Pico de Loro Beach and Country Club, the premier coastal resort community and leisure destination development in Nasugbu, Batangas, recently hosted the candidates of Miss Philippines-Earth 2017.
Their visit coinciding with the World Ocean’s Day, the candidates representing different regions of the Philippines engaged in a beach clean-up activity at Pico Beach and organic farming at Pico Sands Hotel’s vegetable garden. The ladies also participated in a fun teambuilding challenges that included an obstacle course and bowling at the Country Club B&B. The ladies likewise shared their individual advocacies and how they wish to promote the preservation of the environment through various eco-tourism programs.
The visit culminated in a swimsuit competition with some of the club members as judges. Present during the weekend affair were Pico Sands Hotel and Pico Beach and Country Club general manager Maggie Garcia and Herson Sy for SM Markets. Miss Olongapo, Kim de Guzman bagged the best in swimsuit award with Miss Manila and Miss Puerto Princesa for first and second runner-up, respectively.
Pico de Loro Cove has been the venue for various pre-pageant activities of the Miss Philippines-Earth and Miss Earth International. The resort destination property Pico de Loro Beach and Country Club at Hamilo Coast, is also known for its sustainable practices incorporated to its operations, including solid waste management, use of renewable and solar energy, giant clam planting, and utilization of a desalination plant.
The Miss Philippines Earth 2017 coronation night will be held on July 15 at the Mall of Asia Arena.
