A new hotel in Clark Freeport zone is set to open in December 2015, officials of the Radisson Blu in Cebu City announced recently.
 
The Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group, which operates at least 1,350 hotels in 105 countries, is opening before the end of the year its 150-room Park Inn Hotel inside the Clark Freeport. 
 
It would be operated by Radisson Clark.
 
The new hotel is located at the leased property of SM City Clark between the boundaries of the cities of Mabalacat and Angeles near the main gate of the Freeport.
 
Ann Olalo, director of sales and marketing of Radisson Blu Hotel Cebu, said the Park Inn Hotel at SM City Clark will have its soft opening in December. 
Radisson Blu and Park Inn by Radisson are two of the global brands of Carlson Rezidor, which is based in Minnesota, USA and Brussels, Belgium.
 
Radisson Blu in Cebu City is also among the properties of SM Prime Holdings Inc. of the Sy family which partnered with Carlson Rezidor. 
 
It opened in 2010 with 400 rooms and five-star luxury hotel rating in the Queen City of the country.
 
Olalo said they are very optimistic on the marketing potentials of the hotel in Clark and Pampanga because of the sound investment atmosphere and the strategic location of the airport — referring to the Clark International Airport, which offers regular flights to Cebu via the three-times-a-week flights of Cebu Pacific Air.
 
Clark Development Corp. welcomed the opening of the new hotel in Clark as this harnesses the huge potentials of the area as a major tourist destination and an investment haven.
 
“Our prices are definitely lower compared to the rates at the other hotels. But we will have the best service and amenities,” Olalo said. 
 
She said Park Inn by Radisson is a three-star hotel brand.
 
The hotel is expected to employ more than 80 workers when the hotel gets fully operational within three years, Olalo said in an interview. Ed Velasco
 
She said the investments poured in by SM and Radisson areyet to be announced but hinted that they run to more than P100 million, including the construction and hotel fixtures of the soon to open hotel.
 
The opening of the new hotel comes at a time when CDC just received a coveted award in the tourism industry.
 
CDC president Arthur Tugade recently received an award from the SKAL International-Makati during the 25th SKAL International Tourism Personality Awards held at the New World Makati hotel.
