UPSCALE shopping is now at SM City Fairview as it launches its new Annex with upmarket stores, specialty restaurants, and superb services. With the new Annex, the mall has not only become bigger with an additional 33,000 square meters housing almost 100 tenants including the approximately 6,000 sq. m. call center. More significantly, the view has definitely become better.
The two-story Great Court forms a terminus of one end of the mall, anchored by a new ACE Builders Center. One side of the court is gracefully arced, dynamically contrasting with a vibrantly-colored feature wall on the opposite side that overlooks the court. The ground level of the Great Court is configured to be a venue for a variety of activities-from musical performances to fashion shows from people watching to power shopping.
A sweeping double height curtain wall opens onto the front of the mall, providing ample light and views out of and into the Great Court. This is balanced by a continuous clerestory bringing additional daylight into the heart of the expansion will remain well lit inside and out.
The exterior of the expansion takes on the colors of the original Mall, with vibrant blue signage towers and a new, updated logo identifying all entrances. The primary mall itself is white and stainless steel overhangs shelter the curtain walls, clerestories, and entrances, reducing glare and providing shelter from the elements. Exterior hardscaping and landscaping is extensive and integrated with the expansion’s architecture to the SM City Fairview shopping experience.
The new Annex designed by Dsgn Associates has been attracting customers since it opened in 2009. The new expansion brings SM City Fairview’s total floor area to 220,000 sq.m., making it the sixth largest SM supermall in the Philippines after SM City North Edsa, Mall of Asia, Megamall, SM City Cebu, and SM Southmall in Las Pinas. It serves customers in the north Metro area-Fairview, Greater Lagro, North Caloocan, Novaliches, and Bulacan.
