MANILA — Residents of Pampanga are in for another adventure as SM Supermalls opens the first amusement park in northern Luzon.
Sky Ranch Pampanga, located in the city of San Fernando, Pampanga, is the newest destination for residents looking for fun and excitement. It is embedded in a 10,000 square meter land right beside SM City Pampanga.
The amusement park was developed by SM Prime Holdings, Inc. in partnership with S&T Leisure Inc., and Westech Philippines.
Sky Ranch has 22 different rides, including the Loop Roller Coaster, Super Viking, Wonderflight, Music Express, and the Pampanga Eye.
The Loop Roller Coaster rotates 360 degrees and swerves from left to right, a ride that is ideal for thrill seekers.
The Dream Log is a water ride that mimics the experience of going down a raging river. The company decided to create its own river and island specially for this ride to give visitors a unique experience.
The Super Viking is an open-air gondola that swings up to 90 degrees and goes back and forth, while the Double Decker Carousel looks just like the old carousels popular in Europe.
The Wonderflight is a child-friendly ride composed of eight colorful gondolas that look like hot air balloons. Just like real balloons, the gondolas go up and rotate.
The Pampanga Eye is said to be the tallest and biggest Ferris wheel in the Philippines at 65 meters tall and 50 meters in diameter. It is composed of 32 air-conditioned gondolas, with each gondola big enough for four people. The whole cycle takes around nine to ten minutes.
The company originally wanted to name the wheel “Giant Farol”, a tribute to the province’s lantern industry. They eventually decided to name it the Pampanga Eye to let the residents identify it as their own.
Aside from these rides, Sky Ranch Pampanga also offers games to visitors of all ages, with booths for basketball, color toss, ring toss, bowling, and darts available in the park. Lucky visitors can also bring home stuffed toys and other prizes.
Sky Ranch Pampanga will open to the public on November 30. It will be open from 12 noon to 12 midnight on weekends, and from 3 p.m. to 12 midnight on weekdays.
