SM Foundation airlifts relief goods to Tacloban

November 16th, 2013 — A team from SM Foundation left Mactan Airbase via C-130 planes of the Philippine Air Force for Tacloban City on Thursday morning to bring medicines and relief goods.

In the evening of the same day, another team from SM Foundation departed for Ormoc bringing the SM Foundation mobile clinic along with medicines and 10,000 packs of relief goods.

The SM Group of Companies, through the SM Foundation, has activated the distribution of relief packs in the worst-hit areas in Cebu, Negros and Panay since Nov. 11.

In Cebu alone, almost 6,000 relief packs were distributed in Bogo City and the towns of Daan Bantayan, Medillen and San Remigio. SM Foundation also distributed relief packs to residents who were affected by typhoon Yolanda in barangay Mabolo, Cebu City, Consolacion and Cordova towns.

More relief packs are scheduled for distribution in Bantayan and Camotes islands.

The foundation is asking the public to donate in cash or in kind at its Operation Tulong Express booths in SM City Cebu and SM Consolacion.

Cash donations will be used to purchase relief packs while donations in kind will be coursed through the Philippine Red Cross.
