The recent opening of SM Seaside City Cebu gave Cebuanos a first look at the state-of-the-art, environmentally sustainable urban center in Cebu, the Philippines’ second largest city and a major tourism hub in the country.

The SM and Ayala Groups are set to complete the joint development of a 26-hectare Cebu property in five years instead of 10, the head of SM Prime Holdings Inc. said.

SM Seaside City Cebu is a modern marvel done by a design team that includes Arquitectonica, design architect; Garden by Sanders, landscape design; W.V.Coscolluela, architect of record; SM EDD Mall Design, in-house architect; Monolith Construction, general contractor; and DA Abcede, project manager.

SM SEASIDE City Cebu—a five-level, circular-shaped, world-class retail mall with a nautilus-inspired design—will be one of the first developments to open in SM Prime’s masterplan at the South Road Properties area.
