SM Prime Holdings Inc., the property vehicle of the Sy family, saw its consolidated net income soar by 70 percent in the first nine months of the year on the back of expansions in all its businesses and a one-time gain in the first quarter of 2015.

By the end of 2015, SM Prime will have 56 malls in the Philippines and 6 malls in China, with an estimated combined gross floor area of 8.3 million square meters

MANILA, Philippines – SM partners and tenants gathered together to celebrate SM Supermalls’ thirtieth year leading the retail industry through the first ever SM Partners Summit. They were treated to a forward-looking conference for retail industry players and business owners that aims to provide practical and inspiring knowledge through discussions of new and innovative ways to elevate the customer experience into a memorable one. The two-day summit comprised of a Retail Summit forum and SM Partners Awards Night, and was held at the SMX Convention Center of the Mall of Asia Complex.

Property giant SM Prime Holdings, Inc. expects to sustain its strong growth as it further increases its mall footprint.

The company will open SM Seaside City Cebu, its third mall in Metro Cebu and 55th nationwide, on Nov. 27.

“We are excited to launch SM Seaside Cebu later this year, a landmark project in the Visayas region. We see Metro Cebu as one of our important growth corridors following our growth track in Metro Manila,” SM Prime president Hans T. Sy said in a statement yesterday.

Other SM malls in Metro Cebu are SM City Cebu and SM Consolacion.

The medical and health advocacy of SM Foundation is not confined to the conduct of medical and dental missions to needy barangays nor to the renovation of health centers and public hospitals alone. It has extended its advocacy to benefit the police and armed forces of the country, the foundation said in a press statement.
